YEAR OF THE DRAGON
2012 | LIVE PERFORMANCE
In 2012, Francisco X Erazo and Jhavier Loeza invited us to participate in their situationist BTCR* workshop. The collaboration materialized as a live-act at the top of a building in the Rome neighborhood (Colonia Roma, Mexico City). The beauty of Chinese typography and music inspired it. My sister, Mariana Escalante, had just returned after completing graduate school in Beijing. She brought an Erhu with her. The Erhu was live processed and mixed with Masterprogrammer's live electronic set during the performance. Different sound-reactive algorithms were projected over various screens and façades.
